. Senior Design

We have an opportunity to join our Design Studio. This is a CREATIVE position and we are looking for a Senior Designer who is inspired by generating original ideas and considering design impact on multiple scales of workplace design. You will play a key role in advancing our design solutions while maintaining enthusiasm about achieving client’s business goals. It will be your job to lead the pre-schematic design process, working closely with clients and providing the direction necessary to team members to execute projects once they are won!  

At this time, we are looking for candidates for Senior Designer position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design/create/present multiple projects under the guidance of the Team Leaders the design project team and other consultants to uncover integrated, innovative, and interdisciplinary solutions to design problems
  • Consult with clients to establish design concepts and parameters, including how space will function, budget considerations, and aesthetic preferences
  • Set the direction and tell the story of the design, working closely with Project Lead to refine and augment
  • Generate conceptual designs using a variety of graphic techniques, including hand-drawn and computer-generated visuals, and work with Project Manager to align design complexity with target budget
  • Prepare and pitch winning design solutions to AKI’s clients, continuously using your one-of-kind talent and admirable work ethic to help bring in new business and/or encourages repeat business
  • Monitor and maintain a high level of design quality within the project team, including mentoring and coaching junior designers to enhance teamwork and skill-building.
  • Work with the project leader, team leader, and or project manager to maintain project schedules with appropriate support.
  • Oversee the design intent and provide detailing support for construction documentation and construction of projects.
  • Lead materials selection process from conception to delivery per detailed scope of work agreed upon with client and contracts.
  • Review, Implement, and Quality control design intent from partner external project team members to ensure success of the project.
  • Responsible for quality control on all design document deliverables presented to clients
  • Perform additional responsibilities necessary to help achieve business and/or project goals

Requirement

  • 5+ years of experience in workplace interior design or architecture
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Design or another related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), InDesign
  • Strong presence in the market, active engagement in industry events
  • A portfolio of signature conceptual design work, including some large workplace transformation projects
  • Experience and confidence in creating and delivering design pitches to corporate clients that win business.
  • Exceptional client management and project delivery abilities, effectively contributing to multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience and expertise in maintaining design integrity from design concept to on-site construction
  • Impressive track record of happy clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Designer to deploy 3D rendering that are aesthetically and on schedule.
  • Prepare specifications, samples for Designer
  • Generate 3D designs using a variety of graphic techniques, computer-generated visuals, and 3D visualization
  • Monitor and control activities affecting the project’s 3D design documents
  • Coordinate with 2D designer to provide all input information for drawings

. Designer Manager

We have an opportunity in our company for a Design Managerto join our Interior Design team. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our Interior Design Team to lead our growing team. You will be responsible for operating & promoting design excellence on all interiors projects by providing leadership in design, practice management, business development, and staff development. 

In this role, you will have a leadership role in the following areas: 

Design Leadership: 

  • Develop innovative design concepts which are practical, aesthetically appealing, and meet functional goals within the project budget; provide design direction
  • Oversee project teams in the conceptual design stage, providing guidance from vision through design implementation; ensure design intent is graphically presented to clients in a clear and compelling way
  • Keep abreast of design trends as well as new products and technology; be considered a thought-leader in design by continually educating yourself and others
  • Foster an ongoing dialogue within the Interiors team on design including philosophy, approach, and processes
  • Lead and inspire design teams to create and deliver “A Level” design on projects and continually improve the caliber of design

Project Management

  • Manage the interior design component of concurrent projects, both stand-alone and integrated.
  • Provide leadership and take responsibility for all aspects of project delivery including coordination of design, production, quality, and aesthetics of the project. 
  • Partner with clients through the strategic planning, client programming, and needs analysis phases of projects 
  • Perform quality control for all project presentation outputs and documentation 
  • Successfully manage client relationships: use well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate with clients on complex topics 

Staff Development: 

  • Take an active role in employee development through leading, coaching, mentoring, and motivating staff. 
  • Prepare, deliver, and ensure completion of staff evaluations. 
  • Develop the next generation of interior design experience at AK Interiors. 
  • Participate in interviews and recruiting professional staffs. 
  • Foster an environment of mutual respect and trust among the Interior Design team as it grows and develops. 
  • Encourage staff exploration and innovation to achieve project design excellence and continual improvement of design ideas. 

Here’s what you bring to AK Interiors: 

  • Interior Design or Architectural qualification. 
  • Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience 
  • A minimum of 05 years specialist Workplace design experience. 
  • Capable of providing creative design solutions specific to each Client. 
  • Creative thinker, conceptual design expertise, strong technical knowledge, knowledge of furniture systems, current knowledge of Workplace Strategy concepts, and construction administration experience. 
  • Able to work directly with our Clients and form good working relationships. 
  • Experience of managing and coordinating interior design teams. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

. Site Manager

We have an opportunity to join our Construction Team. In this role, you will work hand-in-hand with our Construction Team, also liaise with others department to drive our project from startup to closeout. As Site Manager position and to be successful, you will interface internally with all team levels from Construction manager on behalf of AK Interiors, with particular focus on quality control and service control.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Planning and construction measures
  • Directly work coordination for site supervisor
  • Work with subcontractors in the supply of supplies, check the quality of supplies, progress, contract terms.
  • Organize and implement construction plans, supervise construction activities to ensure the schedule, quality and safety.
  • Good control of problems arising and risks during the implementation of the project
  • Implementing and checking the work of making as – built documents and acceptance and handover of works.
  • Making quality management dossiers, making as-built drawings, making dossiers for acceptance of volume, making payment dossiers with Construction project owner

  • Supervise the construction of civil and structure works including inspection of all materials following approved specification and method statement.

  • Highlight any site issues affecting time, cost, quality and safety of the construction works to the Project Manager and follow up with rectification works if required.
  • Be responsible for following up with contractors and relevant parties to ensure the defects are rectified properly before handing over to clients.
  • Be responsible for coordinating design issue with consultants and contractors to ensure timely execution of the works on site.
  • Be responsible for coordinating with contractors and other parties to ensure all defects are rectified according to the approved methods and prior to handover project.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design/Architecture, project management or equivalent.
  • At least from 2 to 5 year(s) of working experience in the related Interior or Construction field is required for this position (priority office projects).
  • Capable to prepare detail constructions schedule in Microsoft Project, reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and control project budget.
  • Self-motivated, positive working attitude with high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Able to interpret drawing plans and familiar with local building and safety regulation.
  • Excellent project and leadership skills
  • Good Communication and interpersonal skill

Key Responsibilities

  • Sufficient and accurate volume dissection according to design drawings, Shopdrawing drawings
  • Make quotation estimates for projects based on volume.

  • Update cost statements, manage order costs, compared with calculated costs.
  • Other jobs required from QS Manager

Requirement

  • Experience over 2 years in QS position for interior design & construction projects (priority office projects)
  • Capable of disassembling the volume of fit out items, furniture & ME (as an advantage))
  • Have good knowledge of materials, know the price of supplies and labor according to the market from time to time.
  • Read & understand drawings, proficient use of Autocad, Excel and other softwares to support the work
